This Privacy Policy explains how LoadPilot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards
information when you use our Chrome extension ("LoadPilot" or "Extension").
1. Information We Access and Collect
LoadPilot is designed to enhance workflow productivity on freight load boards (such as DAT One) and Google Maps.
To provide these features, LoadPilot accesses the following data:
Google Account Information (Email address): When you sign in via Google OAuth, we retrieve
your email address solely to authenticate your account and verify subscription status.
Gmail API Permissions: LoadPilot requests permission to compose and send messages
(https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send and
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.compose). These permissions are used exclusively to draft and
send load inquiry emails that you initiate directly from the load board interface.
Freight & Load Data: Load details (e.g., origin, destination, mileage, broker contact)
displayed on load board pages are processed locally in your browser to generate rate calculations and email
templates.
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
LoadPilot's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google
API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. How We Use Information
We use the accessed information strictly to:
Authenticate your identity and manage extension access.
Dispatch freight quote emails directly through your authorized Gmail account upon your explicit request.
Calculate mileage, fuel surcharges, and rate per mile on Google Maps and DAT load boards.
Verify broker authority (MC/DOT numbers) via public safety registries (FMCSA/SAFER).
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: Authentication tokens and user preferences are stored securely within your
browser using Chrome's encrypted local extension storage (chrome.storage.local).
No External Email Storage: We do not store, log, read, or transmit your private email inbox
messages or contacts on external servers.
Session Control: You can revoke access and delete all stored tokens at any time by clicking
"Sign Out" in the extension popup.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We believe in absolute data privacy:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data to any third
party.
We do not transfer or disclose user data to third parties, except as necessary to verify active subscription
status with our backend service.
We do not use or transfer user data for serving advertisements, retargeting, personalized advertising, or
credit determination.
We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted here with a revised "Last
updated" date.
